SENIORS 2016

Andrea Cervantes #10
Captain, Midfielder

Picture
Will be attending: Undecided
Years on varsity: 4
What she will miss most:
"I will miss all of the wonderful freshman that became part of the team, and it breaks my heart knowing I only played 1 year alongside them. I will miss everything about Lane Soccer, even 6am practice. Trying out my freshman year was one of the best choices I've made in high school. I was able to build relationships that wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for being on this team. Looking back at my high school career I know that I won't remember all my injuries or the tough practices, I will simply remember my team, our long bus rides, their goofy attitudes, and the strong bond we have all created. Coming into my senior year with 9 open spots was a little nerve wracking, but I'm happy with the way things turned out. This team has great potential, and I can't wait to see how great each player will turn out. I just want my team to know I love them all and thank them for giving me such a memorable senior year. I will miss it all."
What her teammates think about her:
Andrea is the silent assassin of the team.  She always has a smile on her face and a look in her eye that says "there is no way you are winning against me,". Off the field, she can be really goofy and weird, but on the field she is all business. Andrea has arguably the most powerful and accurate shot on the team. She is always scoring from distance and every goalkeeper knows that a ball she strikes can snap your wrist back. We (her teammates) are always in awe when watching her play because her vision of the field is incredible, and she plays a perfectly hit ball 99.9% of the time. We love you, Andrea!

Nicole Vega #9
Forward

Picture
Will be attending: Bradley University
Years on varsity: 3
What she will miss most:
"What I will miss most about Lane Soccer are my teammates and coaches because they are always there for me and motivate me even when I'm not at my best. I will miss the feeling that I have when playing with the team. It's the feeling where I can step on the field and forget about everything [that is] happening in my life."
What her teammates think about her:
Nicole works her butt off. Even after breaking her foot her sophomore year and tearing her ACL and meniscus on top of breaking her patella her junior year, she has pushed through to score an outstanding amount of goals for our team. When she is in position, that ball is ending up in the back of the net. Her knowledge of the game is unmatched. Off the field, Nicole is always making people laugh without trying. She never fails to have a sarcastic comment to make and is an amazing person to talk to about anything. We love you, Nicole!

Larissa Seibt #15
Midfielder

Picture
Will be attending:
Pepperdine University

Years on varsity: 3
What she will miss most:
"I will miss being a part of such a great team. Our team is such a special group of girls, and I have enjoyed playing with each and every one of them this season. Everyone brings such a unique aspect to the team that only makes the team that much stronger. I will miss bonding each and every day, ending practice and beginning games with 'together on 3', screaming 'damn girl'  before each game, singing loud and proud on the bus, and representing the green and gold!"
What her teammates think about her:

Yoo-hoo! Larissa is fun, quirky, happy, and always so much fun to be around! From soccer to swimming to dancing, Larissa has shown that she is capable of achieving anything all while keeping a positive and upbeat attitude. Her commitment to the success and happiness of the team are just a few of the reasons why we love her so much. During practice, she not only works hard and plays hard, but she also makes us laugh when she dances around with a beaming smile. We love you Larissa! Keep on spreading the joy!

Detzi Reveles #19
Midfielder/Forward

Picture
Will be attending: Robert Morris University
Years on varsity: 4

What she will miss most:
"I will miss bonding with my teammates and the long pep talks with my coaches. I will miss fitness testing in the morning before tryouts. Most of all, I will miss goofing around with the girls but also working our butts off on and off the field."
What her teammates think about her:
Detzi is one of the sweetest, funniest, most charming and hard-working girls you will ever meet. Off the field, she is always dancing with a smile on her face. She gives the best advice and has such a great heart. When she's not dancing off the field, she's definitely dancing on the field. She has a very graceful style of play and is hands-down one of the cheekiest players anyone has ever played with, not to mention that she has insane free kicks. She showed her incredible perseverance this season by coming back from a torn ACL in very little time, staying fit, and becoming an impact player right from the get-go. We love you, Detzi!
